Hi.
I had my AOS interview today and was told to wait for decision in the mail.Just a few personalqestions were asked bout how i met my wife and date of our marriage etc.she did not ask for my paaport and did not take my i94 nor did she stamp my passport.is that normal?.also she said my fbi check was back but there is still a pending immigration check.whats dat and how long is it likely to take before that is completed.pls reply as am really worried now.

Hiii kinzzzoe,

I had my interview last week and was told similar information. my background check is not completed and it can take between 1 month to 1 year as she said. however, it can take another extra year if something gets delayed. one of my friend is in same situation since 2004.

So good luck to you and to me and to others. She looked at my ids, EAD and passport but returned them w/out any stamp on it. She said that I will be notified once the background check is completed.

you should not worry. you can renew your EAD when time comes (90 days before the card expire)........however, I would recommend not to leave the country as it is not guaranteed to be able reEnter.....
