Can I get an immunization prescription?

I havent went to my medical exam yet but before I go since I dont think I can get any immunization records from bahamas,can I get a prescription from my obgyn Doctor It is almost time for my annual check up after I had my daughter, can they write me a prescription and I get it from a walgreens or something and allow them to give it to me? Will that be surfice if they give me the shots and give me an immunization card to carry when I do go to my medical exams? Or Do I have to go through them ? Will it be more expensive?Thank you for answering I appreciate you all so much in this forum.

No, you cannot get a prescription for immunizations to be filled by Walgreens or any other pharmacy. It doesn't work like that. If you had shots in the past, but dont have records, the office who will do your medical exam for the INS will give you the immunizations you need to be up to date and current. Only a licensed healthcare professional is able to administer immunizations (RN or MD).

They will do blood work and determine what immunizations you need. When I went to get my results, it turns out I needed a measles shot. I had the option to get it right there for $85, or go get it from my primary care physician (for free, or rather, insurance covered) and bring proof. I did that, and went back today - got my papers.

Thank you so much. I now know what to do ,I just did my biometrics yesterday and the lady told me my work card will be in the mail whatever that means but i just hope the process goes really fast.
