I have a question that maybe someone knows how to answer. I was ready to send in my AOS form (together with I-130 petition) that I downloaded online, when I got 2 extra sets of I-485 forms. One I ordered on the phone on the USCIS 1-800 number, and the other I picked at the local NY office. Both these forms require more info than the instructions online. Besides advising to send 4 photos instead of 2 (in case they get lost or damaged!), they also require extra evidence of financial support. It specifically says:
Evidence of Financial support:
job letter
pay statements
current and previous W2's
Bank letters
if you are supported by someone else, all the above must be submited with their affidavit Notarized.
If you've been in the US for more than 3 months, submit sworn affidavits and supporting documentation showing how you supported yourself since your arrival in the US.
Do you guys comply with these extras not specified on the online instructions? Specifically in my case, I've been here for almost 6 years on a H1-b visa. What extra evidence of financial support do they want besides that being on a H1-b visa I have a job? tax reports for all years?
Please let me know if you've sent this "extra" info or not, specially in the case of people that like me on a H1-b visa.
thank you in advance
