Can i file for I-485 before I-140 approval?

My I-140 has been filed on June 8, 2007 and since the priority dates became current now can i file for I-485 now. Please note that my I-140 is not yet approved. Is it good idea to go for premium processing for I-140 now then apply for I-485 ? Or is it OK to apply for I-485 without I-140 approval ?

I have the similar situation and I checked with the immigration department of my company, and they confirmed that I can apply for I-485 even though I 140 is pending.

My case is similar to both of you. Could you let me know what will be File number(A number). This is required to fill up I693 medical form. Should we leave that blank in the form.

you dont need it right now as it has not been issued yet, your lawyer might take care of that issue for you.
