I-485 Status

Hi,

Just wondering is anybody getting I-485 approvals in their cases lately.

I had applied for I-485 in October 2004 but haven't received any response yet. The last updated date is also pretty far i.e. Sep. 2005. The PD was Oct. 2001.

Any feedback from the forum would be appreciated.

man , that long ? so have you recieved anything in the meantime, like biometrics notice,employment authorization card, etc ? have you gone to your local immigration office with an info pass to see why its taking that long ? I have not seen anyone's case stuck for so long. there is something wrong or missing here.

Yes, I did receive two biometrics and the last one was in Mar 2006. I've renewed couple of times EAD and AP. Currently working on EAD.

Which immigration office I need to go to and what are the documents should I carry. What kind of information are generally provided by them and how supportive and beneficial they would be. I've no idea so if you or someone could shed some light on it - would be greatly appreciated.

did you already go for the interview? if yes, you need to book the info pass appointment at your local immigration office, where you went for the interview and ask them what is happening with your case.
if you did not got for the interview yet, what is really strange, you should probably send some complain letter to the USCIS.
you were asking if anybody got approved lately.well, here is my timeline:

• filed I-485 in july 2006
• received EAD in september 2006
• went for the interview in november 2006, got approved, but could not get my green card yet, because the name check was not finished yet
• finally, the 15th of june 2007, got approved, received the letter "welcoming the new permanent resident" saying the production of my card has been ordered and i should receive my green card within the next few days.

you go to this website and schedule and infopass appointment with your local immigration office. take your biometrics notice with you as they will need your LIN or A#.

Hi Moonlight,

Congratulations for become PR. It appears that your case moved pretty fast. Which country you belong to and under which EB category you filed.

I'm from India and I filed under EB3 category. I've not been called for an interview yet. No clue whats going on with the case.

Thanks h1blues for the info pass link. Since I was not called for the interview, I do not think I should schedule the appointment.

infopass is not for interview, it is to inquire on your case if for unknown reasons it is taking long or you have other questions. I strongly recommend that you do that. I applied EB 2 in March 2006 and am still waiting, I am stuck in security checks.

Security Check

I had my interview with my wife (i am the canadian and she is American) in September of 2006. Have not heard anything back, except they are doing a name clearance and security check on me.
Does anyone know if there is someone we can contact in regards to the specific status of our security and name check?


I am thinking we are probably nearing the conclusion of this process but i have heard people being held up for 2 years.
