  • Filing I485 - Birth Certificate

    Hi,

I had a question about the birth certificate issue.

I have a copy of what my country releases that indicates that you were born on a particular date.

Now, I am in the US, finding a "professional translator" living in the US for my language is practically impossible. However, I have 7 years of English education on me. Do I still need someone to translate the document for me?

Also, I want to submit photocopies of the document with my translation. Is that okay or do I have to notarize the photocopies considering that I am in the U.S. now

    Thank you,

    Roland

You cannot but anyone else who you know and is conversant in the language can do it for you. They just need to provide their qualification to do it.
