I just checked my case status online and for my 485 it says that a RFE has been sent out July 9, 2007. Now, I have been checking almost every day since my application was filed and I want to know if something was mailed out july 9th, why haven't I gotten it in the mail yet? More over, why would they update the status two weeks after they mailed something out like this? I'm a bit worried now and I thought my case was a very straight forward case. I also have a lawyer so I didn't think anything could really go that wrong. Should I be worried?

since the status was just updated it is possible that though the Vo raised the RFE on July 9th it was not actually mailed till today.
USCIS is really bogged down right now hence the delay. If you or lawyer dont get it in about 10 days call them -

Did you get the RFE yet. I have been waiting for one since May 24th and have called numerous time but USCIS customer service does not provide any more information. All they say is I have to wait till it come. The 3 month period is ending this month so I scheduled an Info Pass appointment in Newark NJ for Friday August 10th.
My lawyer has called them as well and he too does not get any conclusive answers.

Yes I got my RFE but it was sent directly to my lawyer not me. You should check if your lawyer is really a good lawyer because when we got our lawyer I didn't realize that all correspondence with USCIS was to go through the lawyer and not us. That is why we didn't get the RFE to our home. We called the lawyer, they had it, and took care of it right away.Comment

I checked with my lawyer and he has not received it either. I went for the INFOPASS appointment today. The immigration officer told me that the application status that I see online is 'backed' which I assume mean that the status is not up-to-date.
He said that my application has been checked for 'FBI Name Check' and that could take 3-6 months.
So now we wait I guess...
