I485, Divorce and New GC application

I had applied for Green Card as a beneficiary applicant of my husband's EB3 category. We're now divorced in July 2007 in India but I was called for interview for AOS of I-485 and the case went to pending status as there is a domestic violence case against my husband. My question is can I get my I485 AOS be approved with Violence against Women Act(VAWA) with out knowing my husband's status has changed to Permanent Resident? Second thing is that if I want to file my Green card with my own employment, does my family-based case have any bearing on my Employment based filing? Can we have two cases filed at the same time to Adjustment of status?
Are the VAWA approved usually or does it take forever to be approved? Appreciate if some one could answer these questions?
