Birth certificate for Adjustment of Status

Does my birth certificate still need a translation if it's written in 3 languages, including english ?

It happend to me that my birth certificate is written in 8 languages, but the officer at the USCIS could not figure out one of them is english because a month after I received a notice requesting a translation. I was later told by the emigration dept of my University that I should have highlighted the english part so it is clear to the person checking it.
