Case pending-NYC

A friend of mine went for and interview today. It wa slate afternoon around 3:40 and the pfficer took 6 min and asked for documentationa dn just looked through the photos. She then said that they will let her know in 3 months their decision. They stamped the passport pending with "section 285 / I485. What does this mean? Will they receive the greencard in 3 months or just the decision? This is really mind boggling.................................

Anyone that can help will be greatly appreciated.

just a few questions, did the interview happen in nyc or garden city.....that can be a big question the case can be be approved or denied....usually when approved with no problems you are told right there an then...if not they need to go through more documentation or get the opinion of a supervisor.......if you do not hear from them esp. garden city please go in and do an inquiry sometimes the case falls through the cracks...been there

yes...he got apporved.

It was in Graden city. They just got the notice 1 week ago and yesterday they got the greencard. I guess things do actually work out there. Thanks!
It does seem the officer was in a rush and my friends were so relaxed and had all the documentation in order.
