  • self filing and receipt numbers

a friend of mine told me that its useless to process your paperwork yourselves because more than likely, we will never receive a response without a lawyer following up for us. anyone here filed themselves and receive results? (he just told us this three days after we mailed our applications in for I-130 & I-485...hurumphhh).

also, our papers were received on July 18, 2007 at the USCIS lockbox in Chicago (this, according to expressmail track & confirm). I was wondering if anyone has received receipt notice applications received in July 2007 yet? anyone? thanks!

      Hi there,

Just don't beleive to what your friends or anyone telling you about filling application yourself. If you know how to do it right, you will get everything goes through.

One of my husband's friends did hire a lawyer but he has not get approval yet.

But i did my application myself and i got approved. I just got my welcome letter today and my green card is on the way.

      So good luck to you.

        Good one, AnneTL

AnneTL said it well enough. If you want to listed to your "friends" like I've seen happening so often, you're not going to do good.

I've seen a lot of people filing almost all their apps on their own and they did very well.

You sure need to do your research and make sure you're doing it right.

Before listening to your "friends" do your own research and get the information from reliable sources, not succumb to rumours.

        Good luck.
