travel with valid h-4 before receipt number

hi,
i am on h4 visa .me and my husband applied for i-485.we havent received the receipt number yet.can i alone travel to canada and come back with in 3 weeks?will there be any problem.please help.

You can travel as long as your and husband's passport has a valid H1/H4 stamp on it. Receipt notice will come sooner or later. But sometimes they might call you up for finger printing and this can be any time after I-485 filing. Once done with finger printing you should be able to travel freely.
Plan accordingly...
