  • Doubts concerning I-864

    Helo,

I filed for my AOS some days ago and i think i made a mistake. pleaze let me know. its scaring me.

Along with the I-485, i submitted my wifes(sponsor) I-864. but the problem is she is a student and she being a student i could not fill up the form completely nor attach any supporting evidence coz she is not employed anywhere. i am on a h1-B visa here. wat shuld i do now?

I doubt my application would be returned. i know i am being pessimistic but please let me know what will happen now.

Note: I did not send medical papers as well hoping they will ask for it later.

    Max.

They will INDEED ask for more evidence. For complete Tax Returns and W2s or 1099s... for the past 3 years... OR the IRS Transcripts for the past 3 years for your Spouse.

And they will ask for your I-693 (Medical Examination).

You will get an RFE (Request for Evidence) asking you to send those before they can continue processing your application... that is if your application is not "just denied".

Find a co-sponsor, someone to sign another I-864 for you. Your wife still has to sign one.
