I filed my I-485 from NSC on Sep 14th 2001.

Can anyone give an idea of the next steps in terms of time from previous experience.

Any one filed in last two months ?? Lets be in touch and monitor the status ..

From the friends I came to know that it takes abt 4 to 6 weekes to get receipt

I am pasting the info from a website:

Chat User : Did INS issue regulation on whether 180-day rule applies from RD or ND?

Attorney : No, the INS has not issued any regulations at all, not interim, nor final, or anything for AC21 law of Oct. 2000! But a reading of the law implies it is the filing date, which would mean the RD and not the ND.

What is Receipt date? Is it the date they received the FedEx?

What is Notice date? Is it the date on the notice which has the case number? (which normally takes 2 to 3 months)

Guys:
I got a receipt from NSC on 1 OCt for the 485 petetion sent on 22Aug with ND of 26 Sep.
You may calculate the times and extrpolate your case.

Both of us can expect the receipt by end October based on NSSM info. Do u have any other info. What will happen if the PD goes back. The 180 day meter will be on?

Hi Gampa,

I am also hoping for October end.
I don't think PD will go back.
If u see the trend in last 3-4 months, the processing time for
I 140 at NSC has reduced from 60-70 days to just 30 days max.

There is also change in processing time for I485. so expect abt 8-9 mths or may be less for complete cycle to be over

We got receipt in 7 weeks from NSC. Any idea about followings:

1) How much time does it take for getting notice for finger print and final 485 approval from the receipt date ?
2) Can me spouse change home address now and what is to be done for this? Work and home address of my spouse is California and I want ot change to OH.

Please help if you know.

NSC Folks

I am not sure of my receipt date since my documents were mailed on Sept12th as per my attorney. Since there were no flights for two days I am expecting the RD would be 17th. Are there different processing times for people of different countries? Two of my friends 1. From South Africa RD Dec 2000 2. From Mexico RD May 2001. Both got their GC stamping done last week. They r in Chicago but belong to CSC.
As far as I know , finger printing date has nothing to do with the status/processing time of GC. If it is 1 yr old then INS will ask for it again.
Address can be changed. But its advisable to consult lawyer.
NSC is taking almost 11 to 12 months from the RD

485 Processing time in CSC was 5 or 6 months. Many of my friends got stamped in PP. I don't know how much time they are taking after incidence of 11 Sept.

Any idea how much time NSC takes to issue notice for finger print. I want to change my address but afraid if I miss finger print notice

Receipt from NSC

Hi All,

Just recvd a conf. from my employer for my receipt date :

My reciept date is 15th Sept. 2001 and Notice date is 17th Oct. 2001.

But there are people in my office who filed before me ( around 6th Sept) but haven't recvd any notice from NSC. Theirs must be on way..
