I-485 Receipt Notice

Hi All,

Has anyone received the acknowledgement notices for the I-485 that were filed in the last month when USCIS had opened the dates. I filed my papers on August 10 and have not received anything so far.

I have to travel to India on Oct, 27 and apply for visa. I have been told that I should at least have this notice when I apply for my H1 Visa at the Delhi consulate. Has anyone been in this situation. Is it safe for me to travel without impacting my status?

I have received the acknowledgement notice two days back and I had filed in the month of july 30 2007, you will get the notice in couple of weeks, hope fully,

I have a question for you, as you mentioned you want a stamp on your PP is this would be the first stamp on your PP and are you going on AP, because in my case I have valid H1 but no stamping and would like to know if I can apply for H1 stamp using AP.

you dont need AP for stamping that is only used for reentry.

after applying for I485 you need the receipts notice and usual H1 papers for stamping.

Ap is good to have just in case your H1 stamping gets denied or delayed

Filed 485 on July 31st 2007 at NE center, no receipt so far - Any suggession

Hello,
My company attorney sent the I-485 application through Fedex on July 31st, 2007.

But I did not receive any letter/communication from INS. Where as one of my friend applied on August 10-12 time got letter for the finger prints.

But this web site says the NE center alread cleared till 08/12/2007.

Any help would be really help me.

Shekar,
Your situation is very similar to what I had. It seems they are transferring some cases from NE to TX service center. So there is a delay in sending the receipts. I got my receipts from TX. Wait for another few days, you will get it.
