parents last name misspelt on my renewed passport

Hi .

I had got my passport renewed recently. the renewed passport has my mother's last name misspelt by just one letter. Do I really need to spend again to get this changed for no mistake of mine? In my previous passports my parents names were spelt right. Could not this be used as the proof? Will it pose any problems for me or my parents in future if I do not get this rectified?
