What is a MDR number?

Consulate is asking me my MDR number. Could anybody help me in getting this information.

MDR number and follow to join

Thanks for your reply. Actually I had applied for follow-to-join for my daughter who is in India. I Sent I-824 for texas SC to notify Chennai consulate about my Green card approval. I recieved an approval of my I-824 stating that "Approved and notified the chennai consulate about your approval"

Then i contacted to Chennai consulate and they said that i need to wait untill i recieve MDR number from NVC. When i contacted NVC about this the officer said that since this is folloe to join process INS will directly notify the chennai consulate and it will not come to NVC.

So anybody can suggest what is the actual process for follow to join.
