Hi,
Can somebody explain what are the different states (status) through which a I-485 application goes through for approval (based on USCIS website). I am aware of the process, but not sure which are the states that are shown on USCIS website.

It depends on what happens, there are MANY different things that can happen... like you receiving a request for more evidence, or the case being sent to a local office... but a basic, out of the ordinary case will change like this:

You send the application: Received and Pending
You go for Biometrics: No change
You go for Interview it is approved: Notice Welcoming the New Resident Sent.
USCIS orders your GC: Card Production Ordered
USCIS mail you the GC: Approval Notice Sent
