I-485 interview

I am a Candian who has lived and worked in MI for the last 8 years as TN-1. On 7-7-07 I married an American. I filed for adjustment before the increase in fees on July 30,2007. I have been finger printed and am checking updates on my case weekly via internet. Nothing has been mentioned about an interview. Is there always an interview or do some cases get processed without one? They are supposed to have made a decision to approve my adjustment by 01-09-2008 so it does not seem that there is a lot of time left. Also my TN-1 expires 04-06-2008 and I dont want to be out of status. Thanks for any info, Peter.

Your status no longer depends on your visa, you are now "pending AOS" and it will not expire until a decision is made on your case.

Most 99.9% cases of AOS are required to have an interview... and even though most July cases are backlogged/delayed you should have an interview appointment letter by now.

Call USCIS with your i-485 receipt number and ask about it. Or make an Infopass appointment (this is the best thing to do) to your local District Office and inquire about your case.

Interview

I got my Green Card last July without an Interview. Sometimes, if you show you're following procedures properly and there's evidence that you're not seeking access to the Job market thru a green card you might get approved without interview.
