My middle name was written wrong in one of the letters from USCIS. I took an infopass and at infopass I foundout that they want to see my birth certificate with my correct name on it. My birth certificate did not have my name on it as in India the name of the child is given way later after the baby is born. That officer said she can not take passport to do a name correction. So if any if you are going to go to USCIS for name correction then please take your birth certificate and if it does not have you name then take 10th or 12th class marksheet or any other evidence you can think of other then passport
