  • After AOS is approved!

I entered US with H1B and filed for AOS (I-485) because I got married with a citizen. My AOS was approved about 1.5 years ago and I received my conditional green card. I'm now planning on a trip to my country for 1 month. Is there anything I need to do?

    1. Do I need to apply for a permit for reentry?
    2. Do I need to change the visa on my passport when I'm back to my country?

Unless your trip is for more than one year you do not need to apply for a work permit. However, make sure your conditional hasn't expired by the time you come to the states.

      Hi, thanks for your reply.

I'm confused now. Why do I need a work permit? I thought if anything I should apply for reentry permit. Once my AOS is approved, I should be able to work by using my conditional green card, am I correct?
