  • interview with INS in a week, please help

I have an interviuw with INS in a week, for adjustment of status due to the marriage with an american citizen.
Few years ago, I had a problem with the police and when I got to court I received 6 months of nonreporting probation.
How do you think that this issue will affect the intreview process?

    Thanks.

not necessarily, but make sure you bring to court all of the paperwork related to it. and tell the truth.

What do you mean by all the paperwork? The record from the court showing the decission? The letters that my lawyer sent me during the process?

Have you heard of a simillar sitution? I am just concerned that they will be tougher on us because of this.

      Thanks.

What are your rights at the interview

I was wondering if you can tell me what a person's rights are, while in interview. If we go for the first interview and we will get separated, can we ask to reschedule, so we can have an attorney present?

As I mentioned earlier I had an incident with the police five years ago. I have the police report and the official court documents to show that the case was dismissed, and I am planning in taking this with me at the interview. Do you think that they will make a case about of this or they will focus more on my relationship with my wife?

            Thanks
