I-485 and Finger Print

Hi All,
My Receipt date is April 2001. I am still waiting for my FP appointment letter. INS has not sent the FP letter yet. My question is, will INS attempt to process though they don't have my FP done or wait till the FP is done ?

FYI: My attorney sorted out with INS, and I got the FP appointment. For anyone waiting for looooong time to get the FP appointment letter, better talk to your attorney and find out if they could verify the cause with INS.

Just wanted to find out if anyone knows the number for FBI finger print enquiry number. I got my fingerprinting done on September 2001. Haven't heard anything from INS or FBI.
I will really appreciate if anyone can give me some info on this.

Phone Numbers

You might have already got information on this but if not, try 304-625-5590 or 304-625-2406. This should tell you if your finger prints were sent to INS from FBI.

I had my FP last July 19, 2002 in Charlotte INS. I called today the FBI # given above to check the FP results and I was just told that "it was processed and completed on July 19, 2002 and was passed to INS". I'm wondering what exactly they meant by "it was processed..." - because I didn't expect them to get the FP results and forward them to INS on the same day - is this really the case always ?

FP

FP processing is very fast, and they take 2-3 days to pass the results to INS. Passing it to INS the very same day is a great improvement! Just check the INS AVM to make sure the date. The AVM will say that they recd. the FP results on .... and processing has resumed.

Keep your 485 notice # ready. Call 802-527-4913. During business hours this will be busy. Try calling many times. Once you get through you will have options. 1- for english, 1 for checking status with the receipt #. Enter the whole 13 digit # (enter the first three letters as numbers too, e.g. EAC will be 322) , press 1 to confirm, and then you should hear the case status.
