  • AOS Application- Please help?

    Hi All,

I sent my paperwork for AOS , EAD and I-130 due to marriage to a US Citizen on January 3rd to the Chicago Lock box.
We received the receipts on January 11th. We also received the appointment letter for mid february.

I still have not received the finger-printing paperwork. Is this normal? If I do not get fingerprinted before the appointment will that affect my application status?

    Please help, I am confused.

You should get the FP appointment soon. You MUST be fingerprinted so they can do a namecheck on you. This delay won't affect you completely, since it is not your fault, but it will make things take more time if you have not been fingerprinted by the time of the interview.

    Call USCIS costumer service.

      Got the I-797C

Thanks for your quick response. I guess the Chicago lockbox is working on stuff real quick.

So I got the I-797C today. Is it safe to assume that this form is the fingerprinting one? It requires me to take a picture ID to have biometrics taken.

Does my spouse need to be present for this process? Do I need to take my Passport which has my visa and I-94 or is a state issued picture ID enough?

      Your responses are highly appreciated.

If it says notice to appear for biometrics and it has a date and a place, then yes. That is it.

Your spouse does NOT have to be present and you will need that biometrics appointment notice, your passport and visa.
