  • Second interview after I 130 approval. Why?

I married a USC 18 months ago. We had our first interview in November2007 in Hartford, CT. I had an attorney also and everything went very smoothly...but...
They needed my updated medical as I did not take the skin test for the TB and only took an Xray ( Oh boy...I never knew that could cause so much trouble now....for cutting corners...but the doc said it was ok back then and the rules are changed now...bs)
Anyways...in the interview, the officer asked very few questions and said he is satisfied and actually said that he dont see any problem except for the medical.
He said he will not make the decision, his supervisor will make it, but he will recommend that all is good.
My lawyer congratulated me and my wife later.

    Later I recieved I 130 approval notice.

OK...I sent the updated medical the next week. I waited two months and no updates, So I took and infopass appt as the letter i was given to hand on the day of interview said I should take one within 90 days and come back for processing. When I went to the office, the lady at the counter said that the I 485 is pending for a second interview.
She said I will receive a letter for the appointment and I should come back for the interview with my wife.
    Why?
Is this a stokes interview? Do they need more proof? Why did they approve I 130 If they dont have enough proof?
I called my lawyer and she says she is not sure and she even suggests that they may have uncovered something in my past or my wife's past...

I am confused. All I want is a damn CPR ( stupid me was out of status b4) so I can go home and not feel like a Prisoner here.

    Any comments are welcome. Thanks.

Well, truth is nobody knows until you get the letter in the mail.

You may be called for a stokes interview, because the supervisor disagreed with the officer who interviewed you. Hope for the best!

        I-130 vs I-485

When I-130 is approved (which actually gives you eligibility to apply for AOS)it means one thing different than when the I-485 is approved (granted residency).
Anyway, they probably just want to double check the info you provided on the medical exams, confirm signatures, etc... you should be fine
