Long Waiting for I-485 Approval

I submitted I140/I485 to Vermont center on September 28, 2005. My I140 was approved on April 14th, 2005 but my I485 is still pending. I was told my I485 was transferred from Vermont to Taxas in April 2007 and I was asked to do finger printing twice. First happened in November 2005 and the second happened in May of 2007. Last Tuesday I called CSNIS Customer Center, the representative asked me all the information but he said he could not find anything on the record (database). He said he had written a notice and the officer should start to work on this Februray 23. I aked does that mean that they have not started to work on my application? The representative said he did not say that. Now I have Referee number for his notice. I am wondering if there is an expert to explain what happed to my case, when they will approve, and what I need to do next? Thanks a lot in advance.

Sorry to hear you are having problems.. Sounds like your case may be stuck in fbi / name check. That is exactly where I am. I applied about 2 years ago and have not heard a thing since our interview.
Living in the US for 6 years legally, no criminal record and have paid my taxes consistently and hold a professional position.. yet still stuck.
The whole system is becomming a complete joke.

It appears if you do things legally to stay in this country... you get shafted.

Hopefully you have better luck soon. You may want to set up a meeting with your local USCIS branch (check out uscis.org for that). They may have more information on your case as being local.
