  • For PraetorianXI !!!

    HI ,
Though you have answered this to me earlier just wanted to clarify several things as we are arranging things :

If someone came by B1/B2 visa and he is visitng her for 3rd time, and they want to get married on the 3rd visit and want to apply for AOS.

    a) Now how long after marriage shd they apply for AOS ??

    b) Shd they get married within the alien`s visa period or can they marry later too ?? ( just to know the ideal thing )

    c) As i saw in a post you have said the AOS interview takes 4-9 months to come ....is it true ??

    d) Also does the EAD card comes in hand earlier to AOS interview ??How long does the EAD card takes to come usually........

    Thanks

So what to do for this ???

        Thanks and great appreciation !!!

May be stupid but want to ask you -

        So as you say :
        EAD takes 60-90 days i.e. 2-3 months
while AOS interview takes 4-9 months to come. Thus EAD comes earlier to AOS and as far as i read for EAD we dnt need any interview. Right ??

Also my visa wd get expired after i apply for AOS and wait ........so how wd i get a temporary status to stay ??

Can you pls answer me ?? Thanks again !!

you usually get your EAD before the I-485 interview. there is no interview for the EAD.

Your status is changes to "Pending Adjustment of Status" when USCIS receives you I-485 application. You are allowed to stay until a decision is made in your case. You are given an EAD to work and AP to travel. So do not worry about your status expiring.
