Change of Address question

I am on H1 and changed my residence and have also sent AR 11 for both myself and my spouse.
For our 485 I have used my friends address for all correspondence. However the last address I used on G-325 form is no longer my residence since I have moved from that place.
I don't intend to change my correspondence address since my friends address is permanent.
DO I need to still send AR11 form to Washington.

While it will confuse INS if you send AR-11 and keep your friend's address. Of course, it is advisable to send the AR-11. Normally when you send the AR-11, INS is not updated automatically. However, if you get an RFE, they will ask for the verification of the address. You will have to show the paystubs, tax returns, etc. depending on the RFE. If at that time the address do not match, you will need to clarify. Try to keep all your records in sync. You may update 485 address by calling INS after sending the AR-11. Pl. note that it has bben seen that most of the time one has updated the address with INS, usaully an RFE is generated. You may call your lawyer, and ask them to give their address for the correspondence instead of using your friend's address.
