Adjustment of Status Query

Hello,

I have a query regarding adjustment of status. I have an approved I-140 employment petition (EB-3 category). I am a registered nurse and, due to visa retrogression, no visa number is yet available for me (2yr waiting period) I am hopeful that the US Senate will fix the situation within the next few weeks. I am wondering if I can enter the US and do an adjustment of status, perhaps, using a B-2 visitor visa (I don't yet possess a B-2 visa).

You can do adjustment of status only if the priority date is current (visa number is available).
