I-485 through Section 245 i

I got the Labor Certification approved, before April 30th 2001. Got layed off in July 2001.

According to Section 245 i, I can show my presence in USA in December 2000.

Though I am having H1 with a company, I want to proceed to I 485 with this provision so that I don't need to go from the beginning again.

Can I do it? Any one have done this before? Your help is appreciated very much.

you need a job

If you were laid off, how will you support your 485 application with the Employmetn Letter? You need to have a job to get a GC.
