  • Medical Exam - Immunizations

My husband has an AOS application pending and just completed his medical exam (I-693). The medical exam was ok, but on the immunization form the Dr. checked "Applicant does not meet immunization requirements" and circled Polio and Varicella (my husband has lived here for 5 years and does not have his childhood vaccination records).

Should we still submit the form even if it says he did not meet immunization requirements? The Dr. said nothing about needing to get these vaccinations done, I just happened to look at the copies of the completed forms he gave us. I was under the impression that if there were any necessary vaccinations that needed to be done, the USCIS civl surgeon would administer them. Instead he said nothing and the 693 supplemental form says applicant does not meet requirements.

Has this happened to anyone else? Not sure what to do...

the doctor should have given him the necessary shots. Go back and DMAND a new exam and form I-693 to be done. Get the shots done.

      Medical Exam

I got my medical record since 2002 when i went to the US as a student and I got amost everything, in which there had 1 dose of MMR. In 2008, I am about to adjust my status, so I went to do the medical exam with the civil surgeon. She told me that I need a second dose for MMR vaccination. I am trying to have a baby and dont know whether the vaccine could harm my baby or not if I get pregnant, so I decided to take the pregnancy test and it came negatively. After the nurse gave me a second dose of MMR, she gave me the MMR instruction and I saw that only children must have 2 doses, for the adult, 1 dose of MMR vaccine could be fine. I asked the nurse and she told me that I need only 1 dose for the immigration. Then I asked her to ask the doctor so after taking the 2nd dose of MMR how long could I conceive and it appeared with the answer "3 months". It just pissed me off because the doctor didnt let me know that adult could get 1 dose MMR ( in 2002, I was 27 years old) and it will affect my time trying to have a baby. My question is do I need to take the 2nd dose of MMR and how long will I have to wait before trying to conceive after taking the MMR vaccine ? Now I got the 2nd dose anyway but it pissed me off because the doctor office seem unproffessional and rude. Please help me with the questions, anyone ? Thanks.
