    Difference between Fingerprint results and FBI Report

    The automated system says that "On January 23rd, we received the results of your fingerprint and processing has resumed on your case."

    A live immigration officer told me yesterday that "on March 15th, we received the report from FBI."

    Does anyone know what the difference is? How long would it be before they contact me? My notice date was Nov. 23, 2001

      That's what I assumed but then why two different dates almost two months apart for the same thing?
