  • Need Opinion on my case

    Hi,

My wife is a US citizen. We had our AOS Interview on 2/20/2008. The interview went very smooth, but we did not ask whether it was approved or denied.

We received I-130 approval on 2/22/2008. The priority date displayed on the I-130 approval notice is 2/19/2008.

This December I have to travel outside US. I am very hopeful that I'll get the GC, but to be on the safer side do You think I should be prepared to apply for Advance Parole?

If Yes when do You think is the best time to do so, considering I should have sufficient time in case something goes wrong with the application of Advance parole.

    Thanks for Your help!!

You have plenty of time to wait... before applying for AP. I would say apply in July just in case... but for now, it is in your best interest to find out whether you were approved or not? or whether you are stuck in namecheck or not? what did the officer say at the end of the interview?

      Hi,

Well the interview went pretty smooth. The best part was that he was all joking and smiling with us. It seemed as if looking at our application, proof of joint stay and wedding pics (we took more than 4 photo albums with us) he was more than satisfied.

He said he has seen enough he wont require any more proof from us. He just asked to get my wife's 2 passport sized pics and made copies of our drivers' license.

Anyways, how would I know if I am stuck in name check ?? Should I call the customer service??

      Thanks for all Your help.

Wait until March 20th, if you have not received anything (online updates or by mail) then make an infopass appointment to speak with an officer at your local USCIS office.
