  • Tracker for delayed FBI namecheck

I am stuck in the name check and I know there are many like me. I have passed my AOS interview on 30th Oct 2007. I applied for AOS on Nov 6 2006. So right now I am waiting for almost 6 months for my namecheck to clear.

On February 4th, USCIS issued a memorandum directing officers to approve I-485 petitions if they are otherwise approvable and the name check has been pending for more than 180 days.

According to the agencies, they hope to be able to turn around 98% of cases within 30 days and the remaining 2% within 90 days. They plan on achieving this by June 2009. In the mean time, the agencies hope to meet the following completion goals:

May 2008 - Process all name checks pending three years or more
July 2008 - Process all name checks pending two years or more
November 2008 - Process all name checks pending more than one year
February 2009 - Process all name checks pending more than six months
June 2009 - Meet the time frames noted above

If everyone share their activities on this name check thing then we can see how is it working and how far away we are.

So please post your updates with the following information

    AOS application date
    AOS approval date
    Last Update on online status
Date of Approval ( If approved)

    Thanks in advance

I called USCIS as my case is pending for more than 180 days and they said that my case should be cleared before nov 2009. The lady sounded like she was giving a good news, Does anyone have similar experience?

Today I got an email from my lawyer saying that USCIS wants to do a biometric interview on 15th sept. I applied for AOS on the basis of marriage to USC on Nov-06 and had passed interview on Oct-07 but I got stuck in FBI namecheck process.

the mail says "The United States Citizenship and Immigration Service will take your fingerprints, and picture to do a FBI security check. This is a required step in the Permanent Residency Process and CANNOT be waived. "

Does anyone has any clue about it?

            Thanks

                Processing time for I485 adjucation

                Hi CHRISUSA,

Can you help please if I am outside of the processing time because when I called 1-800 Customer service USA they say I have to wait past 60 days. I don't know how they estimate when will they process my I-485

                Priority date: February 2004
                Filed I-485 with approved I-140: July 2, 2007(received date)
They also have Sept 4, 2007 as notice date written on I-797C-Notice of Action
EB-3 category Philippines-filed at Nebraska Service Center

NSC- Processing time is July 4, 2007
                Priority Date: February 2004

                Am I outside processing time?

Do you think it's time to receive my GC?

For me the indication was that they asked me to come for another finger print. If your finger print is 15 month or older they might ask you to come back and thats a sign that they are processing your application and after one month you should see the online status change to something like card production ordered or something.

Mine is marriage based. But my name got stuck in name check process. We applied for AOS in nov 2006.

For employment based it basically depends on priority date/country of origin. (I am sure you knew that)
