Difference between Processing Times Vermont & Local

Guys, I am new to this website and i have recently applied for I-485 in May 2002.My Q is Simple and i hope some of you might know this already but anyway my question is What is the difference between "Local INS Office Processing Times" and "Vermont service Center Processing Time Report" only as far as I-485 is concerned.My company is based out in NJ but i live in Sacramento,CA and applied for 485 while i was in Sacramento.According to Local INS Processing Times on this website it should take 150-180 days(6 Months) for Permanent Residence Filing Until Approval
I-485 (1) ( I am guessing this is my 485 Approval time) but the receipt date at vermont service center processing for 485 is 8/1/01.Where exactly is my 485 application i mean is it Vermont or CA.Why is this discrepancy.Appreciate your reply on this.

Difference between Processing Times Vermont & Local

Employment based I-485 is processed at service center (VSC).

All Others (mostly family based) are processed at local office.
