Hello everyone,
I truly need help with AOS--- I am a U.S Citizen 20 yrs old and i married my husband(21) on 3/2008 .. i've dated my husband for 1.5 yrs and we did not live together until 3/22/08-- we currently live with my bestfriend and his wife but we are all moving to another townhome in about a month or two.. i want to submit the AOS once i have our new address. We now have a joint bank account and to tell you more info on his legal status- he has never lived in the U.S but has crossed over several times as well as visit different cities/states(with a permit for short periods of time)--- we currently live and got married in el paso texas -- he was born in juarez mexico which is right accross the border-- and has had a b1/b2 border crossing card visa since he was about 13yrs old--- and doesn't expire until 2011--- now my questions are::
1.) He does not have the i-194-- should he have one eventhough he has not traveled outside of el paso for almost a year? is it required?
2.) Will i or he get in trouble for staying in the U.S with me from 3/21/08 ????
3.) I might get laid off from my current job, if i get a friend to be joint sponsor, will i have to provide proof of income even if i get laid off?? or when do i fill that form out (before or after submitting i-485???
4.) also for proof of citizenship do i need one of those new birth certificates??? i hear mine is no longer valid (i have the old type)
5.) also for his birth certificate and anything that is in spanish from his paperwork has to be translated into english?? is it required??
6.) since he has not been in U.S with me for a long time do i apply here in the U.S?? or should i be applying through the consular office in juarez???
7.) Does it matter that i am 20 years old???
i would really appreciate as much info that i can get-- i already read through process just not too sure
best regards
