green card doubt- Praetorian please help!!!

i got my green card recently. it was under AOS in family based category. my wife sponsored me. i got a conditional green card and its valid for 2 years and me and my wife together have to remove the conditions after 2 years and get a permanent card. i wanted to know if due to any problem, we get separated, then will i be able to get the permanent green card alone or will immigration deport me after 2 years. can i fight for my case? also i wanted to know that my wife is a naturalized citizen. so can i apply for citizenship after 3 years or after 5 years coz people say that if ur spouse is not a born citizen then it takes 5 years to apply for citizenship.

You can apply after 3 years (for citizenship) if you are still married to the USC who sponsored you, regardless of natural-born or naturalized, a citizen is a citizen.

As far as removing the conditions by yourself, it is not "Easy" but it can be done, as soon as a divorce is finalized, you can file I-751 to remove the conditions on your card, proven that you can show enough evidence that the marriage was entered and continued in good faith. You will have to submit evidence from the date your GC was approved, showing joint finances and such.

green card dought or planing a Divorce?

I just read you question and It seems to me that you are planning on Divorcing your wife and you just want to protect your status..Wow just when you think you have meet all the A-holes in the world you find a bigger one (that would be you)..I hope your wife finds out about this treachery to her and Divorces you and Ends everything because Moiz you apparently are not satisfied with her so ending the relationship might be a good idea so that your wife is not living in a lie that her husband “loves” her. And honestly if a husband if inquiring about a question like this then she really does not deserver a person like you.

I dont know what kind of man or woman u are who cannot think rationally. what i asked was "if we get separated due to any problems". marital life has its own problems. i only asked this question because i am being blackmailed by my in laws coz this abuse is done to people who have a conditional green card. the only difference is that in this case its a guy. they are stripping me off financially and are treating me like ****. did u get it now? i dont want to get separated from my wife. they will be the ones who will be separating me from my wife. i love my wife very much and i want to spend a good life with her for the rest of my life. but my in laws are poking their nse in our internal affairs. i asked it only to gain information so that i atleast know what to do in case it happens. Get some life so called happy life.

Sorry for interrupting, I know this s not of my business, but take this as a quick advice: Do not spend your time giving explanations about your personal life to anybody! If you are having problems with your wife is your business, and if people think you married her because of the green card let them think! They are jealous because they still don't have a green card yet
