H1B to F1(student) while AOS pending

My company doesn't want to renew my H1b because they want to make use of EAD while I-485 is still pending. Can I have H1b converted to F1 without affecting my I-485 provided I can found a school that will sponsor student visa?

Not possible if AOS is pending due to the immigrant intent.
