  • List of Items for Interview (PraetorianXI Chime In Please)

So we have our interview in May. We have been married for about a year. A couple of questions.

    1. We live with the parents therefore we don't have a mortgage, lease, etc.

    2. Also the cars are under the parents name.

    We do have the following:

Joint Bank Account (Her and I)
Joint Bank Account with the Parents
    Joint Tax Return
Joint Car Insurance Under Parents Name
Beneficiaries on each others life insurance & 401k
    Itineraries from our Joint Trips
Wedding Pictures (US Book with pictures from formal and informal family events, ticket stubs to movies, greeting cards from different occasions, etc)
    Receipts from our Honeymoon
Drivers license with same address (She moved from a different state)
    Joint health insurance coverage

What else can we provide since we don't have #1 & #2?

Also what kind of questions can we expect them to ask?

        Hi,

The list of documents or evidence to prove a legal marriage are good. If you have marriage certificate that will be a big plus too. About staying with your parents, if you are financially good I guess you have nothing to fear, you can tell the officer if the issue of not having a lease comes up that you are taking care of your parents. You can tell him that you are financially capable of getting your own place but its just that you are taking care of your parents.

Questions you can expect are on the immihelp website in detail. I can share my experience with you. It was very easy and smooth interview...the officer asked when and where and how did me and my wife met. Where do we stay, where do I work, what does she do. Very basic questions. Then he asked for my wife (who is a USC) to give him 2 passport sized pics. We didnt have them so he told no worries we can go outside get the pictures and come back a give to the lady on the reception counter.

So bascially if the marriage is true you guys have nothing to worry about. Be truthful and things shall go well.

        Good Luck!!

Thanks for the replies guys. Quick question. We have several joint credit cards together. Should we just take a copy of the cards or the actual cards with us? Thanks

The smart thing to do would be to take both. Keep the copies alongwith other evidence and if asked you can show the actual credit cards.
