  • what if we both have been living abroad?

Hi, My wife (US Citizen)and I (Dominican)are planning to move to US in november. We would be married for 2 years by the time we arrive. I Have a B1/B2 Visa, so I'll make a AOS as soon as I can.

What about the Affidavit? She has lived in DR since she was 2 years old. What can we do to prove that we can live in US ?(We plan move with about 40K). I heard that I could count my assets in DR (about 30K).

    Thanks.

You can not enter with a B1/B2 visa with the intention to undergo AOS. That is a fraud. Your wife must apply for a K-3 visa or IR1 visa for you.

If you are living in DR, just let her file the petition for you direct at the US embassy in DR, now. It is called direct consular filing and it is a fast process. You will get your immigrant visa before NOV.

Im from the DR and trust me they do no accept the processes mentioned below. The DR is one of the slowest countries in processing applications. People wait get a immigrant 2 years or more to get an immigrant visa
