I just saw the online update for my I-485 and it says: "we ordered production of your new card".

We were not scheduled for interview. Is it possible that it's really my greed card coming within less than 30 days?

I already got my EAD. It was through a K-1 Visa

K1 visa applies to fiance of US citizen that got married in US. Go figure!

Below is the history. I didn't have an interview. I wish you all a very smooth and fast process like mine.

Arrival date: 29 September 2007
Marriage date: 8 December 2007
Application date: 29 February 2008
USCIS Receipt date: 2 March 2008
Notice date: 15 March 2008
Biometric: 25 March 2008
Received work permit: 12 May 2008
And got my GC today, 27 May 2008

green card --- no more interview???

Hi Slusle,

Im happy I read your post. I am now in the same situation, I got an email notification 4 days ago saying "we ordered production of your new card". This surprised me alot as I am expecting an interview first before the card. I first thought it's an electronic error or somethin! I got my work permit 6 days ago. I was about to post about this issue up til I read yours. I have a few relatives who came here in the US through K1 Visa and they all were given interview appointments so I thought everyone else will too(with K1 visas) once they request for an adjustment of status. I am looking forward to recieving my card soon too in the mail.

I will let you guys know if the same will happen to me.

By the way, I want to let the people who run this website know, that your site is a great help! From the time my fiance did his petition for me up til now for my AOS, we always make sure we read everything about the topic on this website for the paperwork (aside from referencing on the USCIS site too). We havent gotten any difficulty with our paperwork whatsoever, and never had to pay for an attorney either! We have recommended your site to all our friends who needed some insight on immigration matters.

Great News , I'm in kinda the same situation , 2 days ago i received an email about my EAD was sent to production , now i am hoping to in a couple days to receive an interview date , it will great if i don't have to go to the interview . i will keep you all posted .

oh also how long after you receive the email notification bout the EAD case did you receive your EAD card ? thx .

As for your question new guy, I got my EAD on 12 May 08 and got my GC two weeks after, 27 May 2008

green card ---- yes, indeed, no more interview for me!

Yes I just got my greencard today!!! We are so impressed as to how fast they approved it, and so hassle-free in our part - no interview!

About my work permit, my biometrics was on April 12, 2008 and I got the work permit card on May 21,2008. Then after a few days, I got the email telling me a card has been produced for me (referring to my greencard). Among the three I applied for (Advance Parole, Work Permit and Adjustment of Status), the Advance Parole got approved first, in April.

Everything has gone so smooth (thank God!), now Im working my way on securing a teaching job this August... I do hope everyone else gets to enjoy a troublefree experience paperwork-wise. God bless you all!
