July '08 interview and loss of job

Hi, hope you can help. The facts are:
(A) Engaged in '05.
(B) Fiance/Husband came to study in US on F1 visa '06-'07.
(C) Married in Mar '08. (Yay!) Launched I-485 too.
(D) Fiance on F1/OPT EAD until June '08. May lose job unless new I-485 EAD comes in before then.
(E) Fiancee/Wife/Sponsor will lose job in June '08.

And we are scheduled for an initial interview in July 08.
Our questions are:

(1) Can/should we re-schedule our interview for later (to allow time for wife/sponsor to find a job)?

(2) What is the best way to improve our financials: assets > requirements or co-sponsors? Are our liabilities taken into account?

(3) Is disproving non-immigrant intent our biggest concern? Or is it the financial sponsorship?

We've had a string of bad luck lately...

There is no non-immigrant intent that needs to be disproved in your case. If the person entered on F1 and has been more than 90 days since last entery before the marriage took place, that is not a concern.

The sponsor should have income above the poverty guidelines. There can be co-sponsors for the petition from a relative/parents etc.
