Adjustment of status interview-thru marriage

I had my interview on friday 5/30/08 and everything went well, I was told my case was approved, given a welcome letter on the spot and had my work permit taken away(she said i did not need it amymore), however when I look on the USCIS web site to track my paperwork it says that my 485 is still pending?
What do I do now?

Nothing. Just wait until the IO updates the computer system.

hmmm! Why would they take your work permit away? Once AOS is approved, does the person automatically fall under legal immigrant and can get employed wherever?

Yes. with proof
