I-485 pending post processing date

Hi -
I wanted to write to the forum and see if anyone has been in this situation or can offer up some advise.

I-485 filing date - 4/17/2007
Current processing date - 6/21/2007

My case is still pending. I called the USCIS office and they sent me a letter saying - "We are actively processing this case. However, we have to perform additional review on this case and this has caused a longer processing time. If you do not receive a decision or other notice of action from us within 6 months of this letter, please call customer service"

Any advice what I can do to followup. I would appreciate your help.

What about the message is unclear? They need more processing time so you just need to follow the instructions given.

Hello,
my experience is that you cannot go by the processing dates on their website. Sometimes they actually work well ahead of their own processing times. I don't know if it is dependant upon the local office. I try to just forget about the processing otherwise you become very anxious.

Thanks for the responses. The message is clear, however, I was wondering what may be possible reasons causing this? - Name check, additional docs? I wanted to know if someone had gotten a similar notice and what was their experience?

It sounds like your case is outside the processing time. We also had this experience filing our family based application, however, the first time I called customer service, they told me to wait 90 days, which we did. After 90 days, they told me that we will receive a notice within 60 days and to call after that if I haven't recd anything. The third time I called, they told me to wait 45 days.

If I were you I would call customer service again after 60 days just to follow up. Each person we spoke with said a different time frame. Finally, our interview is in a couple weeks so don't give up, just keep calling or schedule for Infopass.
