If we get I-130 approval notice can I enter US on visa waiver programme and then file for adjustment of status I-485 or do I have to stay put in my country and continue to wait for consulate processing? Please can someone advise on this asap. thanks

It is visa fraud to enter the US on the VWP with prior intent to immigrate, even if the I-130 is approved. The VWP is for visiting purposes only. Continue the consular processing route, it is less risky.

Stay in your country of origin till all is approved and you get a visa to travel to america from the american embassy in your country. That way all will be fast and easy for you when you get here. I am sure you don't want to mess up what you have already started and all seems to be going on well.
