  • what does it mean?

I got a notice about the production of the card and welcome notice couple of days ago.
Now this came in the e-mail from uscis:
    Current Status: Approval notice sent.
On July 7, 2008, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS. Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service.

Does this mean they are sending the actual card? this is confusing, what are they sending? They already said in the welcome notice the status was approved so I assume it is the card that is comming already--am I correct? We are holding my mothers trip waiting for this card to arrive. Please advice. Thank you!

Yes. They are sending the actual Permanent Resident Card.

        Clarification

        Hi,

Congratulation for getting permanent EAD card. Do you know when do you file your 485 ????? Even One of my friend had received last week only, but they applied last year only.

It all depends on the category the person is in. In the immediate family of US citizen category (parent, spouse), it is very fast. We mailed an application to Chicago box April 5th this year, they forwarded it to California center and we got approval on July1. Your friend might be in a different category. Also, if you file all your documents and they don't have to ask for extra stuff and don't require interview (like ours), then it can take about 3 months. Good luck!

This is not a permanent EAD card... it is her Green Card.

Correct, didn't read it carefully enough, assumed we are on the green card topic. My reply is regarding green card not employment autherization--we never applied for one. Thanks for clarifying.

I just wanted to express my appreciation for the existance of this website. It is truly amaizing! I have received a lot of answers here that were accurate and fast. Thank you, it is an increadable service you are providing to all of us "confused souls". A lot of this info is more "how the system operates info" and cannot be found on uscis website, no matter how well you "study it". Thank you!!!
