Timeline For Filing The I-485

Everything I have read about the I-485 says we "can" apply for the Change of Status after we marry (within the allowed 90 day window of course).

What I can't find is, what is the "deadline" we have to file it by? Has to be one I'm sure and what date does that clock start counting from?

I am assuming that you are talking about Adjusting Status from someone who entered on a K1 visa (next time provide more background information please).

In that case, the best would be to get married AND file for AOS all within those 90 days. Anything else will put the alien out of status and could start accruing illegal presence, though not necessarily a problem, this is not something you want on your record with USCIS... and if it passes over 180 days (after the initial 90 days) then, she could be subject to a 3 year bar if she leaves the USA without an approved GC.
