Hello! I am in an employment-based AOS. My 140 and AP got approved and I-485 is over 180 days pending. I also have a valid H1-B till 2009. The PD is current. Here is a question. I need to go abroad (not to my native country) to work for my employer for two years otherwise I am facing termination here. It's not exactly a company transfer as the employer intends to re-hire me locally with payroll being paid in that country. The employer also can not guarantee a position for me when my green card becomes available. It looks to me that I'm going to lose my green card and consular processing also doesn't make much of the sense. One option for me is to find another job in the U.S. and quit the current one. In this case how much time do I have to find a new job after being terminated? In case I go abroad, is there any chance to keep the green card processing uninterapted? Or should I stop my I-485 processing? I'll need to travel to the US once in a while so will it complicate my chances of getting US visitor visa? I'll appreciate your insights on how to keep the GC. Thanks, Alex.
