  • 485 Interview

I have been asked to appear for an interview for my 485 application on June 11.

Does anyone know what usually happens?
Is approval/denial immediate? Or is there an additional delay after the interview for conclusion?

    Thanks in advance,

    -domo

I forgot to mention. The interview is in San Jose, CA. The service center is CSC.

    TIA,

        About Interview

If you have all your documentation ready and accurate you do not have to worry at all. Its just a formality. We had to go through the same situation. We took all approval letters (H1), EAD, advance parole, latest pay stubs, tax returns and W2's. Our case got approved right away. Make sure that you have a latest employment letter from your employer stating your salary and position (which should be same as mentioned in your labour certification). Its really necessary. Also talk to your attorney (if you have one), it really helps.

        Good luck.

          .....more in interview

As far as I know there will be no denial at the spot. But if your case is straight forward you can get your passport stamped (LPR-Legal Permanant Resident) on the same day. If at all the officer needs additional information they will send or hand over an RFE and you will have enough time to submit the additional documentation and your case will be approved/denied after reviewing it. Good luck again.
