Why do they returned my $340

USCIS receaved the petition I485 from my wife to me on june 12 sent from NY to Chicago. Before the fingertips I receaved the 340$ that i guess is from the EAD...Why was that?

EAD is free if you paid new I485 fees of $1010 or so.

The fee for for EAD (i-765) is already included with the fee you paid for the AOS (i-485) so, no need to re-pay extra, so they sent it back.
